National Cochlear Implant Users Association
The NCIUA was established to provide practical
support to implant users, their family and friends. It encourages
best practice in the provision of cochlear implants, rehabilitation, aftercare
and appropriate educational opportunities for children.
The
Home Counties Cochlear Implant Group (HCCIG)
The HCCIG is run by deaf people for deaf people who
use cochlear implants. It is a support network where implantees, potential
implantees and parents of children with cochlear implants can exchange
information and discuss all aspects of cochlear implants in a social environment.

The British Cochlear Implant Group is a professional
body representing all the Cochlear Implant Centres and other specialist
medical practitioners throughout the United Kingdom.

Ear Foundation
In 1989 The Ear Foundation introduced to the U.K. the
innovative technology of cochlear implants for young children who were too
deaf to benefit from hearing aids. Today The Ear Foundation provides a wide range of support for the implantation process including training courses for parents of implanted children and for the children's local professionals, as well as for the children and teenagers themselves.

The NDCS is an organisation of parents, families and carers
which exists to support parents in enabling their child to maximise their skills
and abilities and works to facilitate this process by every means possible.

Royal National Institute for the Deaf
The RNID is the largest charity representing the 9 million
deaf and hard of hearing people in the UK. The RNID aims to achieve a radically
better quality of life for deaf and hard of hearing people. We do this by campaigning
and lobbying vigorously, by raising awareness of deafness and hearing loss,

A national charity helping hearing impaired children
acquire listening and spoken language skills through Auditory Verbal Therapy.
The Speech, Language and Hearing Centre
The Speech, Language and Hearing Centre at Christopher Place (London) is for babies and children under five who are hearing impaired or have delays in speech, language, and communication.

"Multi-Sensory Oral Approach" - family support and education,
also offers a correspondence course. Assessment Centres
Burwood Centre
We
provide support for deaf children and their families with our assessment services.
The centre provides a family-friendly and supportive environment, with an assessment
dedicated to the needs of the family. There is always an opportunity to discuss
your child's needs in depth during the assessment. A detailed report is also
produced, summarising our findings and recommendations.
